Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia (UNIVE) has an internationally outstanding reputation of academic excellence in both research and teaching, and is committed to environmental protection, community well-being, social equity and economic development. Activities for MYRIAD-EU will be performed within the Department of Environmental Sciences, Informatics and Statistics, which has a long history of interdisciplinary climate change research, with key expertise in the development of frameworks and methodologies supporting decision making on different environmental problems
UNIVE will develop risk analysis approaches that apply machine learning methods, to assess dynamics in risk drivers in the Veneto pilot. The activities will focus on how water pollution and environmental degradation caused by anthropological pressures and aggravated by observed and future climate change in the selected regions and countries may undermine ecosystems, livelihood and resilience, and amplify threats to sustainable development.
